Glenn Sr.Glenn Sr

Glenn Sr. was born and raised in Skippack. In fact, when he was a youngster, he used to help march cows down the middle of Skippack Pike (Rt. 73) to the local butcher shop. Glenn enjoy sports, outdoor activities, fishing, in fact, he couldn’t think of anything he really does not enjoy other than an occasional spanking from his dad, which was usually deserved. Glenn married his best friend and High School Sweat Heart Barbara (Marshall). God blessed Glenn and Barbara with 6 children, 7 grandchildren, and hopefully more to come. He always says “We should give back to the community” which is why he is a Life member of Skippack Volunteer Fire Company, and Charter member and Past President of Skippack ambulance. In fact, Glenn talks about one time when he was running a strenuous fire call, he was wearing blue socks that turned his feet blue which he says, “that is why I only wear white socks.” “Coach Dickey” was the name used in boys youth baseball at various levels, Girls softball at various levels, and youth football. Glenn is still an Emergency Medical Technician with Skippack Ambulance because, just like the business he is in, he still enjoys helping people make it through difficult situations. All of the Dickey children are grown, but with seven grandchildren, he states, “I can see myself reliving those thrilling days of yesteryear again.”
